'10 Welcome back to Arches National Park

Bridget and I met-up with my buddy John and his dauhter Lauren in Chicago.  Their flight from Syracuse endured great turbulence.  John, not being a fan of flying, came off the plane white as a sheet with very little remaining in his stomach.

After a minor SNAFU at the Denver airport, we took a puddle-jumper over the Rockies to Moab --an airport staffed by a single TSA agent and a car rental guy.

Arches first scenic overlook stop

This is Lauren toppling stones

Great photo ops at Sandy Arch ... and *lots* of sand!

Our first good hike took us through Broken Arch

Hiking through, path or no path

See those little dots?  We're going to be those little dots!
--look to right of and well beyond the center bush

Now, we are those dots, soon to be the dots standing just right of
the center stone at peak of the climb --very, very tiny!

Finally, we reached Delicate Arch

Our next stop was brielfy at Dead Horse Point with rain coming

John, caught between rock and a hard place at Hickman's Bridge

Lauren, asking "Where the heck are we going?!"

Bridget, pulling John out of another tight spot.

John, pondering how much further to the car,
as we're half way through our hike across the Frying Pan

Hey look!, I can see our car!
